College Day Celebration at REC
Rajalakshmi Engineering College, celebrated its 20th College Day on April 12. Mr. C. K. Ranganathan, Founder-Chairman, Cavinkare, was the Chief Guest. In his address, he said that the students coming out of the educational institutions have abundant openings for self employment, provided they are prepared to put in hard work with proper planning and time management. He narrated several of the challenges he faced in establishing his company and how he converted every difficulty he faced, into an opportunity for further growth.
Mr. Vasudevan Rajagopalan, Head (Talent Acquisition-India), Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the Guest of Honour stressed upon the need for team work for entrepreneurial ventures. “Instead of seeking jobs after graduation, creating jobs would be a great contribution to the national development.
Earlier presiding over the function Dr. (Mrs.) Thangam Meganathan, Chairperson, Rajalakshmi Institutions, while congratulating the prize winners in various academic and co-curricular events, called upon the students to continue to learn even after graduation and update their knowledge in tune with the advancing technology in every field. Dr. C. R. Muthukrishnan, Advisor, Rajalakshmi Institutions, emphasized that the students should maintain their self motivation for continuous career progression. Dr. S. N. Murugesan, Principal presented the annual report listing the various achievements of the Institution and laurels earned by the students during this academic year.
With its aim to encourage more students to become entrepreneurs, Rajalakshmi Engineering College (REC), Thandalam, Chennai conducted E-Conclave’17, which inspired and exhilarated the idea of entrepreneurship.
The event started with REC Principal Dr. S. N. Murugesan delivering the welcome address spoke about the importance of students becoming an entrepreneur. The Chief Guest, Mr. C K Kumaravel, CEO of Naturals Saloon and Spa in his speech explained about how business helped in women empowerment.
Mrs. Madhuvathi Arun, an educationalist broke the common misconception that women empowerment still had a long way to go. She explained how various barriers which people think exist were just the boundaries they confine themselves within.
